Nieuw Amsterdams Peil

Mayke Nas (‘composer laureate’ of the Netherlands until last year) and artist Teun Hocks share a feeling for the vulnerable and the absurd in the everyday. Their Arsenaal der ongeleefde dingen (arsenal of unlived things), which is having its world premiere today, promises to be a tragicomic musical theatre piece. The musicians of Nieuw Amsterdams Peil are already dreaming about ‘scenes in which, against all odds, dreams keep being pursued with senseless overconfidence’.
