Antwerp Symphony Orchestra lead by Osma Vänska & Edith Van Dyck

Festival 20·21 doesn’t play a symphonic card every year, but for our 25^th birthday we’d really like to pull out all the stops again. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra will help us celebrate the occasion with an all-Finnish programme spanning the entire 20^th century. They’ll start with the poetic flute concerto Aile du songe by Kaija Saariaho, a splendid piece full of scintillating sound and timbre shadings. They’ll follow it with Jean Sibelius’ powerful Fifth Symphony, truly a solid masterpiece.
